I read a blog about why Vista is delayed all the time. The blog disclosed the fact that an average developer in the Vista team produce 1000 lines of code each year.

The last 9 months I have produced 65.000 lines of commercial quality C++ code in a commercial project. In addition to this, I have produced some thousands lines with php code in the same project, and some 10.000 lines of code in other projects (like warftpd). I have also fixed bugs in commercial and free projects, and written some articles.

If Microsoft were to do the same project, with the same overhead as they do in Vista, they would have spent 65 man-years.

When I worked on this project I felt that I was getting old and not as efficiant as I used to be - but in this new perspective, I don't think I'm doing too bad after all ;)
